Activities

Borouge PLC is an Abu Dhabi-based petrochemicals company specializing in the production of polyolefins. Founded in 2022, Borouge emerged from a strategic partnership between the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Borealis, an Austrian company. It operates as a joint venture between ADNOC and Borealis, with ADNOC holding a majority 54% stake and Borealis owning a 36% stake. The company's mission is to provide innovative and differentiated polyolefin solutions across various industries. Borouge focuses on creating value through people and innovation. Leveraging advanced proprietary technologies such as Borstar® and BorlinkT from Borealis, Borouge delivers polymer solutions for sectors including Agriculture, infrastructure, energy, advanced packaging, mobility, healthcare. These solutions address global challenges such as climate change, food waste, water scarcity, energy transition, healthcare support, and waste management. Borouge serves customers in over 50 countries across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The company operates one of the world's largest integrated polyolefin complexes in Al Ruwais Industrial City, UAE. Additionally, it has a Compounding Manufacturing Plant (CMP) in Shanghai. Borouge's core values include being progressive, collaborative, responsible, respectful, and efficient. In addition, the company strives to create a positive workplace for its diverse workforce. Since its inception, Borouge has significantly expanded its production capacity. From 2001 to Q1 2022, production capacity increased 10 times, reaching 5 million tonnes per year. The company maintains a young and well-maintained asset base, contributing to its production efficiency.
