Reinforcing its long-standing commitment to investing in national talent and supporting the development of Kuwait's workforce, Burgan Bank concluded its participation in the fifth edition of Watheefti, one of Kuwait's leading career fairs, held at The Arena, 360 Mall. Through its participation, the Bank connected with aspiring Kuwaiti professionals, introduced them to its diverse career opportunities, and offered a closer look at the people, values, and workplace culture that continue to shape its success.
Burgan Bank's participation reflects its broader human capital strategy, which places employee development, empowerment, and long-term career growth at the heart of its approach to sustainable success. As part of the event, the Bank's Human Resources team engaged directly with prospective candidates, discussing their professional aspirations, introducing potential career paths across different banking functions, and highlighting the learning and development opportunities available within the organization.
Commenting on the Bank's participation, Naqeeb Amin, General Manager - Human Resources Group at Burgan Bank, said: "At Burgan Bank, we believe that investing in people is fundamental to building a stronger, more innovative, and more sustainable organization. Our participation in Watheefti reflects this belief and our ongoing commitment to identifying, developing, and empowering the next generation of Kuwaiti professionals. Beyond attracting talent, our priority is to create an environment where employees feel supported, inspired, and equipped to realize their full potential."
Naqeeb added: "Our people are the driving force behind our continued progress. By fostering a culture built on ownership, transparency, teamwork, and passion, and by investing in continuous learning and professional development, we aim to create meaningful careers while contributing to Kuwait's wider human capital development goals and Kuwait Vision 2035." Adding a creative dimension to its participation this year, Burgan Bank also introduced "The Burgan Blue Pages", a specially developed publication designed to offer visitors an engaging, behind-the-scenes look at life inside the Bank.
Taking inspiration from the familiar format of a directory, the publication presents Burgan's workplace culture through a collection of employee stories, insights into the working environment, benefits, and other features that bring the employee experience to life. Distributed to visitors at the Bank's booth, the Blue Pages served as a creative way to introduce prospective candidates to Burgan Bank beyond the traditional recruitment conversations.
Throughout the exhibition, the Bank's recruitment team met with candidates from different educational and professional backgrounds, discussing available opportunities and identifying promising talent for potential recruitment. These interactions provided an opportunity to better understand candidates' ambitions and capabilities while demonstrating the breadth of career possibilities offered by the banking and financial services sector.
Abdulwahab Jamal Abdulraheem, Executive Manager - Talent Acquisition at Burgan Bank, commented: "Career fairs such as Watheefti provide an important platform for us to engage directly with talented individuals and better understand their career aspirations. At Burgan Bank, we are looking for people who bring fresh perspectives, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. Just as importantly, we make it a priority to ensure candidates understand that joining Burgan Bank means becoming part of an organization that values their contributions and supports their professional growth."
Abdulwahab added: "This year, we wanted to make that conversation more engaging and personal. Through initiatives such as the Burgan Blue Pages, we are giving prospective employees a closer look at the experiences, opportunities, and people that define our workplace, helping them envision the possibilities of building a successful career with us." Burgan Bank continues to strengthen its position as an employer of choice through ongoing investment in talent acquisition, professional development, employee engagement, and a progressive working environment. As the first bank in Kuwait to earn the Great Place to Work certification in 2023, the Bank continues to build on its people-first approach, supported by initiatives designed to encourage professional growth, collaboration, and a strong sense of belonging.
During the exhibition, Burgan Bank's team also highlighted the "Let's Be Aware" (Diraya) banking awareness campaign, launched by the Central Bank of Kuwait in collaboration with the Kuwait Banking Association and with the support of local banks. The team shared awareness messages with visitors on safe banking practices and ways to protect themselves against financial fraud attempts. This reflects the Bank's ongoing efforts to promote financial literacy and raise banking awareness across different segments of society.
The Bank's participation in Watheefti forms part of its wider commitment to Kuwaitization and supporting the development of national capabilities. By maintaining an active presence at leading career and recruitment events, Burgan Bank seeks to connect emerging talent and experienced professionals with career opportunities while contributing to the development of a skilled, future-ready national workforce.
