Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the world's largest aluminium smelter on one site, announced the promotion of Shoji Takeuchi to Manager Sales - Asia Pacific, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence in high-growth markets.

Shoji joined Alba in December 2020 and played a pivotal role in establishing Alba's Singapore Branch, which now serves as the company's sales hub for Asia.

Over the past few years, he has been instrumental in deepening Alba's presence in Asia Pacific, including successfully penetrating the Japanese market where Alba supplies all Value-Added Products (VAP), while building a strong reputation for product quality and customer service. His efforts have also supported Alba's expansion into other markets such as Thailand and across the wider Far East.

Alba's Chief Executive Officer said: "Shoji has consistently demonstrated a strong customer-centric mindset and a deep understanding of regional market dynamics. His promotion reinforces our focus on delivering reliable supply, high-quality products and long-term value to our customers across Asia Pacific."

Prior to joining Alba, Shoji worked at UACJ, Japan's largest rolling mill and extrusion company, where he gained extensive experience in VAP and P1020 procurement and trading, as well as derivatives trading. He holds a Bachelor's degree in politics from Senshu University, Tokyo.
