In a regional first, Zain Kuwait announced the successful completion of an ultra-high throughput test reaching 31 Gbps using advanced multi-carrier spectrum aggregation across sub-6 GHz (using n77, n78, n41 bands) and mmWave. The milestone reflects Zain's continued investment in building future-ready infrastructure and its ongoing focus on evolving network capabilities to meet rising demand and enable the next wave of digital services.
By combining large bandwidth resources with 5G-Advanced (5G-A) capabilities, the test achieved stable ultra-high data rates, demonstrating Zain's readiness to deliver extreme capacity, low latency, and next-generation network performance. In addition to validating technical feasibility, the trial explored the technical potential of the N77 and mmWave bands, which are globally recognized as key evolution paths for high-capacity 5G-A development. This forward-looking verification strengthens Zain's commercial 5G-A deployment and enhances its ability to support high-density services, applications and future network requirements.
Building on the principles of intelligent capacity management, the milestone aligns with the broader evolution of 5G-Advanced, including advanced carrier aggregation approaches that help networks handle heavy usage more efficiently while maintaining consistent performance.
Commenting on the milestone, Chief Technology Officer Daaij Al-Oud said: "Reaching 31 Gbps in a real-world verification is a strong signal of how far network capabilities can evolve when we combine advanced spectrum assets with 5G-Advanced features. This regional first reflects our commitment to building a future-proof network that keeps Kuwait at the forefront of next-generation connectivity."
He added: "This kind of capacity and performance readiness supports what comes next, from demanding high-density environments and enterprise-grade connectivity to new experiences that rely on ultra-low latency and massive bandwidth. Our goal is to ensure the network remains ready not only for today's digital lifestyles, but also for the platforms, applications, and innovations that will shape the next phase of the digital economy in Kuwait and across the region."
The achievement strengthens Zain's ability to support a wide range of high-demand scenarios and next-generation applications, including performance-intensive use cases in high-density venues, advanced fixed wireless and enterprise connectivity, immersive digital experiences, smart city services, and large-scale IoT deployments, alongside emerging cloud and AI-driven services that require consistently high throughput and responsiveness.
This milestone also reflects Zain's broader direction under its 4WARD strategy - Progress with Purpose, through which the company aims to maximize its potential as a customer-centric, future-proof, and impactful leading TechCo, while continuing to meet growing data demands, explore new digital business models, and evolve into a more integrated technology company.
