Saudia Group has signed an agreement with Boeing to add four 777-200 Freighters to its fleet, expanding Saudia Cargo's capacity as the Kingdom advances its ambitions to become a global logistics hub under Vision 2030.

The agreement was signed in Jeddah in the presence of Ibrahim Al-Omar, director general of Saudia Group, with the first aircraft scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The deal was signed by Saleh Eid, vice president of fleet management at Saudia Group, Loay Mashabi, CEO of Saudia Cargo, and Asaad AlJomoai, president of Boeing Saudi Arabia.

The order follows a period of strong growth for Saudia Cargo, which transported more than 1.15 million tonnes of cargo across its global network during 2024 and 2025. The carrier also recorded sustained growth in revenue, national exports and cross-border e-commerce while maintaining an on-time performance rate of more than 90 percent over the period.

"This agreement marks an important milestone in executing Saudia Group's long-term growth strategy and reflects our continued investment in strengthening the Group's integrated aviation ecosystem," said Al-Omar.

"By expanding our dedicated freighter capacity, we are enabling Saudia Cargo to meet growing global demand, enhance connectivity across key international markets, and contribute to Saudi Arabia's ambition of becoming a leading global logistics hub," he added.

The investment forms part of Saudia Group's broader fleet expansion strategy and supports Saudi Vision 2030 by reinforcing the Kingdom's position as a logistics hub connecting East and West. Once operational, the new freighters will expand Saudia Cargo's network across four continents, adding dedicated cargo capacity on key international trade routes while strengthening links between Saudi Arabia and major commercial and industrial centers worldwide.

Al-Omar added that the aircraft would "strengthen Saudia Cargo's operational capabilities, increase network flexibility, and support the continued growth of national exports and cross-border commerce," describing the move as part of the Group's commitment to advancing the Kingdom's logistics ecosystem in line with Vision 2030.

Omar Arekat, vice president of Commercial Sales and Marketing for the Middle East at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said the order underscored confidence in both the aircraft and the companies' long-standing relationship.

"Saudia Cargo order for Boeing 777 Freighters is a testament to the airplane's unmatched performance and versatility."

He added: "The agreement strengthens our longstanding partnership with Saudia Group, which has spanned over 75 years, and we look forward to further supporting their cargo growth initiatives."

Saudia Group said the agreement demonstrates the strength of its integrated aviation ecosystem, where strategic fleet planning and operational execution work together to support the Kingdom's broader aviation and logistics ambitions.
