Al-Ahsa Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Saudi Aramco are organizing the 2013 edition of Al-Ahsa Investment Forum.
Eastern Province Gov. Prince Saud bin Naif Al-Saud, Prince Badr bin Muhammad Abdullah Al-Jalawi, who heads the forum's chief executive committee and governor of Al-Ahsa, will grace the event at the InterContinental Hotel on Wednesday (Dec. 25).
The two-day event will feature top Saudi government and private sector business leaders, and will provide a platform for building new strategies and opportunities for investment in Al-Ahsa, and address the major challenges facing the region.
Abdullah Alnashwan, secretary general of Al-Ahsa Chamber of Commerce and Industry said the forum would discuss topics identified by the chamber's investment committee based on an extensive study of the province's needs.
Saudi Aramco will also have speakers from different international oil companies shedding light on relevant issues.
Alnashwan said: "The forum will emphasize the importance of Al-Ahsa as a city of oil besides its other important aspects like agriculture, industry, tourism and labor."
He added: "Al-Ahsa is gifted by comparative advantages that are not available in other cities like the geographical location, area, availability of labor and its proximity to energy resources."
Alnashwan said the previous edition of the forum witnessed the participation of a number of princes, ministers and senior officials and had served its purpose of enabling investors and decision-makers under one roof.
Alnashwan said the forum will focus on the potential of Al-Ahsa as a destination for investment and identify the lucrative sectors for the purpose.
The forum will also discuss presentations and papers on Al-Ahsa's development by both the government and private sectors.
