The heirs of late Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi have agreed to sell the Villa Certosa to a Qatari company, in what ranks among the largest private real estate transactions in Italian history.

Constellation Hotels Holding, a Qatar-owned hospitality group, paid approximately ?350 million ($395 million) to acquire the estate located in the Costa Smeralda region on the island of Sardinia.

The villa became synonymous with Berlusconi over several decades and was the setting for the "bunga bunga" parties that sparked widespread controversy, fierce criticism, and numerous investigations throughout his years in power.

Villa Certosa spans roughly 300 acres overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and boasts around 126 rooms along with a collection of lavish buildings and facilities. The property also features expansive swimming pools, an amphitheatre, vast landscaped gardens, and a rare collection of cactus plants.
