Oman's total oil production increased by 7.5% during the first four months of 2026, reaching 127.3mn barrels, compared with 118.4mn barrels during the corresponding period of 2025.
Average daily oil production also rose by 7.5% to 1,06mn barrels per day by the end of April 2026, up from 986,700 barrels per day in the same period last year, according to data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
On the export front, Oman's oil exports increased by 2.7% by the end of April 2026, reaching 102.7mn barrels, compared with 100mn barrels during the corresponding period of 2025.
Despite higher production and exports, the average oil price declined by 15.4% during the January-April 2026 period, falling to $64.2 per barrel from $75.9 per barrel in the same period of 2025, NCSI data showed.
Meanwhile, Oman's total natural gas production, including domestic output and imports, increased by 4.6% to 18.772bn cubic metres by the end of April 2026, compared with 17.94bn cubic metres during the corresponding period last year.
Associated gas production rose by 1.3% to 4.128bn cubic metres by the end of April 2026, up from 4.076bn cubic metres in the same period of 2025. Non-associated gas production, including imports, recorded a stronger increase of 5.6%, reaching 14.644bn cubic metres, compared with 13.864bn cubic metres during the corresponding period a year earlier.
On the consumption side, natural gas usage in industrial projects increased by 5.8% to 9.865bn cubic metres by the end of April 2026, compared with 9.321bn cubic metres in the same period of 2025.
Gas consumption by power generation plants also rose significantly, increasing by 12.7% to 4.913bn cubic metres by the end of April 2026, compared with 4.358bn cubic metres during the corresponding period last year.
In contrast, gas consumption in oil fields, including losses, meter discrepancies and shrinkage factors, declined by 5.7% to 3.93bn cubic metres by the end of April 2026, compared with 4.17bn cubic metres in the corresponding period of 2025.
